Christmas Tip #2 For A Mindful Family Time

December 15, 2016
On the second day of Christmas…
My #2 tip for this season will be:

Are you ready for a second tip challenge? You’ll soon understand there is no big surprise in all this, but sometimes it’s nice to be reminded of simple things?

Play a game together! That sounds tricky for some, maybe dull, or too easy. But try it all the same!

From time to time, it’s good to not worry about the real-life rules. Board games are here for that. They have their own rules, all right, but they are not the same. The youngest could not be the weakest; the old ones can win. Games of chance, such as dice, also are an excellent way to have fun. You surely¬†don’t have to think of a strategy to win, or feel bad if you lost/ gained once more! All you have to do is enjoy the ride.

Today is poem day:

For my “Spirit of Christmas” little help today:

Robin’s Round by Ursula Askham Fanthorpe

I am the proper

Bird for the season –

Not blessed St Turkey,

Born to be eaten

I’m man’s inedible

Permanent bird.

I dine in his garden,

My spoon is his spade

I’m the true token

Of Christ the Child-King:

I nest in man’s stable,

I eat at man’s table,

Through all his dark winters

I sing.
